School is out for the summer (well, almost)!…

Looking for fun activities for you and your friends to do together this summer?  Say no more, the Armstrong County Tourist Bureau is here to help give you some ideas!

Silver Canoe Campground


Do you like camping?  We have many campgrounds in Armstrong County, such as Brown’s Landing Campground and Marina, Creekbend Campground, Wheel-in Campground, and more!  But the Silver Canoe Campground is sure to catch your attention!  It is 40 acres on State Route 210, on the upper end of the picturesque Keystone Lake.  Wildlife is all around here, from deer frolicking along the water’s edge to a lonely fox walking across the meadows.  There are planned activities on most weekends and a two-acre private lake with fishing, paddle boat, and canoe rentals!  Wait, you can’t forget about the heated swimming pool and FREE WiFi that they have!  You’re welcome.

Don’t have a swimming pool to cool off in this summer?  No problem!  The Belmont Complex in Kittanning is perfect!  With an Olympic-sized swimming pool, beach entry, water fountain, water slide, low dive, playground, pavillions, volleyball, and new ADA compliant locker rooms, it’s sure to be a sun-kissed summer filled with fun you won’t forget.

Have a sweet tooth that you can’t seem to get rid of?  Visit Speedy’s Tasty Treats for their homemade Gourmet Ice Cream and Sherbet, soft serve, novelties, ice cream cake rolls, and even lactose free sorbet!  If you’ve missed dinner, they also have the best burgers, wings, and hot sausage.  Stop by, ice cream lovers, and taste the Flavor of the Day!

It’s a hole-in-one!  Lenape Heights Golf Resort in Ford City has everything you need for a relaxing getaway, or just a good game of golf.  It consists of an 18 hole public golf course, a newly constructed European-style hotel with rooms and suites, and a fine dining restaurant and bar.  Don’t forget about the new fire pit that was just recently added!  Now you can roast marshmallows and make s’mores to make the most eventful day complete.
