Cross Country Skiing Basics

The freshly fallen snow is beckoning you to go play outside! Perhaps you have wondered what it would be like to glide on the snow across a hill and dale on a pair of cross-country skis. You ask yourself, where can I go, what should I wear, who has the right equipment, and will I have fun? By coming to this class, you will have many of those questions answered!
Boots, skis, bindings and poles will become new talking points for you. You’ll learn about the different styles of Nordic gear and the pros/cons of each. What clothing you wear will ensure you are prepared for a day on the snow will be discussed. Finally, information will be provided about where to rent or purchase cross-country gear and great places to go to experience the snow that has been calling you to play outside.
This class will be co-taught by Joseph Treibsch and Lindsay Gibson, Founder of the Women’s Adventure Club of Pittsburgh.
