Snowshoeing Basics

The snow has arrived, and you want to be outside, but you don’t want to sink in up to your calves. Then come and find out about snowshoeing your way through the winter.
This course will help you select the footwear and clothing that will ensure you are prepared for a day of stomping through the snow. You’ll learn about the different styles of snowshoes and the pros/cons of each. Wondering where you can rent, borrow or purchase these snow tamers, that will be discussed too. Finally, information will be provided about great places to go to experience the same snow that Bigfoot so loves … well, at least our local version of Bigfoot.
This class is co-taught by Joesph Triebsch and Megan Caplan, a guide with the Women’s Adventure Club of Pittsburgh.
