Thanks to generous funding provided by the ACMH Medical Staff Foundation, the Armstrong Center for Community Learning will kick off a Wellness Wednesday series at the Outdoor Discovery Center at Crooked Creek this spring. All programs will be free of charge and include a healthy snack for attendees!

Wellness Wednesdays will encourage people to spend time in nature and help them to better understand the connection between nature, human health, and well-being.

Many studies have concluded that spending time outdoors, especially in green spaces, can improve health. It’s been shown to lower stress, blood pressure and heart rate, while encouraging physical activity and improving mood and mental health. A recent study published in the International Journal of Environmental Health Research adds to the evidence, suggesting spending just twenty minutes in a park – even if you don’t exercise while you’re there – can improve well-being.

All classes will be held from 10 AM-12 PM. Due to the nature of some classes, class size will be limited. Please register online.
